Happy New Year!
I hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful 2011. There is something so refreshing about the start of something new. You know- a fresh beginning, a burst of creative energy, a different perspective on your surroundings.
You, my foodie friends, almost always mention food as part of your surroundings. So I wanted to share this Food Map of the US. Most of the states I agree with, although I lived in Delaware for five years and have never heard of a crab puff… So monitor your expectations. 
I will also note that DC is missing. What food best represents the District? The ubiquitous half smoke? A dirty martini? The Brick breakfast sandwich from Eastern market? Perhaps there were so many choices that the author couldn’t decide…
Anyway, I wish you happy snacking in 2011. I will begin posting cakes again next week, AND will have very exciting news about the National Capital Area Cake Show Cupcake Challenge!
